ECISGROUP participated for the second time in the Abu Dhabi International Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) which took place in the United Arab Emirates from 1st to 4th November 2010.
The Abu Dhabi Emirate is renowned for having 9% of the estimated world oil reserves and 5% of the world gas reserves, ranking fifth in the international classification of hydrocarbon producers and exporters. This huge wealth determines that the per-capita GDP of its 800.000 inhabitants ranks 15th in the world classification list, ahead of Italy (in the 28th position).
Considering the above, together with an excellent organisation, the Exhibition had a remarkable success. More than 45,000 visitors were declared (the latest issue of the Trade Fair OMC in Ravenna had about 9,000 visitors and SAOGE in Dammam - Saudi Arabia - less than 8,000) and there were 1,502 exhibitors from 50 countries. 262 speakers gave a talk at the parallel Conference, whereas 1,050 press releases were issued.
The main actors on the Oil&Gas international scene were obviously all present: the national companies (ADNOC, Saudi Aramco, Qatar Petroleum…), the technological firms (ABB, Emerson, Ansaldo, Schlumberger…), the contractors (Technip, Almansoori, Dolphin Energy, Maire Tecnimont, Lurgi, Technip…), as well as the Energy companies (BP, ExxonMobil, Total…) to name just a few.
ECISGROUP has for long pursued an internationalisation strategy with an increasingly strong conviction; this strategy is aimed at creating a winning synergy between its peculiarities as EPC Contractor (a solid know-how combined with over 30 years experience) and a thorough knowledge of local entities that a commercial partner operating in the area can share.
For this reason ECISGROUP was present with its own stand which was well-conceived and brilliantly located: a strategic location in a very busy place and only a few steps away from the stands of ADNOC, NPPC, Qatar Petroleum and others. More than one hundred interested companies visited our stand; in the rush hours ECISGROUP’s large team had difficulties in interacting with everybody. We welcomed visitors coming from the geographical area comprised between Libya and India. This area includes both nations that are already very dynamic, such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the Emirates, and countries with great potential like Pakistan, Iraq, Iran, Sudan. Having important references in the area surely constitutes an excellent starting point; in other words, it is a great competitive advantage. Furthermore, we reckon that our brand, through our publications, product lists, catalogues, USB pen-drives, and gadgets reached about 500 visitors.
According to an initial assessment, there are good chances to recover our investment. Now that spotlights are off, we will have to carry out effective commercial and marketing actions to guarantee the full success of the initiative.
